Quit your job and dedicate your life to Horror

Scary cult
Have you ever sat in your cubicle at the office or were serving someone at red lobster and thought, I would rather be ghost hunting or making someone not be able to sleep tonight? Same, same. I hear you. Unfortunately, it's not easy to trade your office printer or menu for a proton pack or monster makeup. The security of a standard 9-5 job is tempting; most come with great benefits for short-term and long-term goals, but if you are willing to ditch those comforts, keep reading and find out how to make a living keeping it spooky.

Be a ghost tour operator - Many ghost tour operators get paid a decent wage, though I am not sure if that offers other benefits, it is a year-round job that pays well. Are you familiar with your local ghostly legends and historical data, able to walk for an hour or more, stand in one place for long periods, and are good with people? In that case, you may want to go on the tour of your choosing a couple of times, reach out to them or even go on their website to see if they are hiring. Keep in mind you may still have to host tours during inclement weather, including snow and possibly rain. Suggestion: some attractions are indoors, like the Queen Mary

Work at a haunted house - Another great place to work for Halloween is at a haunted house attraction. If you're good at making people jump when all you're doing is standing behind them when they turn around, you're a decent actor and don't mind seasonal work, a haunted house attraction can be the perfect place to supplement your 9-5 with scary evening work. If you live in Florida like me, you can even make it a permanent position! Florida is the only state with a year-round haunted house attraction and named one of the Scariest Haunted Houses in America" by the Travel Channel; however, if you are shy or have social anxiety, you may want to look into other options.

Become a horror writer - OK, I will be brutally honest and say none of us will probably be Stephen King, but that doesn't mean you can't be an established horror author or even write short stories online. As far as I know, some people still like reading books, whether physical books or on their kindle, nothing warms the heart of a dark soul like us than a good scary book on a stormy night. You can do it; it's not that hard; just check out what the king of horror himself has to say about it on 7 Tips to Become a Better Writer from Horror Author Stephen King.

Do scary artwork - Art is subjective, so chances are that even though you think you are art skills may not be good enough, believe me, it is, someone out there will love your art, you just have to paint with passion, or sculpt with passion or build with passion. I saw a quote somewhere, and I am so mad because I can't remember where the fuck I saw it. Still, it is a really inspiring quote that said: "If you are passionate about something people will see it, they will notice it and they will support it because you're passionate about it; those were not the exact words, I'm paraphrasing, but you get the gist of it.

Make scary vlogs - We all love them, we all watch them, paranormal videos are super creepy and keep us going until the next major horror movie is released. Who doesn't love watching the newest in creepy footage from Maria's ring cam? or someone's trail cam where they swear they've captured big foot yet again? better yet those awesome creepy pastas or true crime stories...whatever your niche, why not make a video instead? both blogs and videos can be monetized and if you are good at what you do, you can make a decent living if people love you, heck maybe you can even open your own merch store once you are well established and have gained a reasonable audience.

This is all for now...this list may be updated later as new ways to make a living in terorror come to mind..till then, May the fear be with you!
