This has been the best Halloween in a long fucking time, dude. I haven't had this much fun since Covid started, and it felt good to finally get out there and get back into living my best spooky life. Thank you, Covid 19 vaccine! Anyways, it first started with me finally accepting that I am a witch and no other path will work for me. So I cast, I conjure, I bless. And I met with the gorgeous and fabulous witches of Sisters Of The Silver Sun, and it was the best thing I did in a while.
My heart was happy, and my soul knew I was with good company; I admit I arrived a bit late because I am always late, and I swear to you, I will be late to my own funeral, my husband and I were already late to our own wedding LMFAO! But that is beside the point. The point is that you just know when you are in the company of like mind and hearts, you don't have to question it, you don't doubt, you just vibe. So I missed the fire dancing, and I was sad about that, but it kicked off a most wonderful Samhain/Halloween, and although I did not get to honor my ancestors at the Samhain gathering, I did my own ceremony for them.
The next day
Actual Halloween was so crazy I don't even know where to start! The plan was for my roommates and me to do some spooky shit; whatever it was, we didn't care, summon up ghosts, demons, wendigos, whatever, as long as it was creepy. We all decided that we should go ghost hunting, so we looked online and found Ghost Party Haunted Ghost Tours; they offered a full-on ghost investigation after dinner at a supposedly very haunted restaurant, good food and ghosts? Hell yea! After all, my fat ass likes to eat, and ghost hunting isn't any different.
So we contacted Ghost party and paid for the dinner reservations and the ghost hunt. Informed my roommates and my husband that everything was paid for and we should start getting ready. Cool, everyone started getting ready; I was almost done, except I couldn't find the top that I wanted to wear, it's black, like all of my clothes, so this was a nightmare for me; I looked everywhere, under the bed, in the bathroom, the closet, etc. I just bought it and tried it the day before, so it couldn't be that lost, right? Guys, before long, my whole household of 4 adults and 1 child were looking for it. Literally everyone! Nowhere to be found and the clock was most certainly ticking away; before long, we were already running a bit late. So I put on another top and rushed outta here, forgot my rempod, my roommate forgot her phone, lord of the underworld! It was such a mess.
So we arrived at the meeting point, and no one was there; we went inside to ask if the group had left already; the Tampa Bay Brewing company bartender said he didn't think so and said they usually dress in victorian. So we waited and sat outside of TBBC looking for victorian dressed people. After a while, we asked again, and this time he said, they are at cerelholic, so we made our way there, no victorian people there either, but we go inside and ask and lo and behold this is also the place to meet, not sure how I got two different meeting locations! Oh, what a night. So the cafe staff rushes us to a remote part of the cafe, a hidden speakeasy of sorts where delicious drinks are being served, and the storyteller tells very creepy ghost stories about Tampa bay.So we enjoyed the spirits, both the alcoholic and nonalcoholic variety, the macabre tales of Tampa Bay, as well as the heart-stopping jumps and scares; it was amazing! And it does not stop there; evidently, cerelholic is one of the most haunted locations in Ybor, at least according to what I have read.
